The Pappi Project
(2012)
“The Pappi Project” is a thought-provoking exploration into the commodification of human beings, particularly women, through Leena’s lens. This exhibit featured newspaper clippings, price tags, and the eerie wig village with its myriad of wooden heads donning various wigs, symbolising the standardised identities imposed on women. The collection prompted a deep inner dialogue about identity and societal norms. Leena’s work, by intertwining media narratives with personal perceptions, offered a unique perspective on the pervasive influence of female commodification in our lives.
