This installation marks a pivotal stage in the artist’s career, driven by her deepened engagement with social and sexual issues and partly inspired by NGOs like Hamari Muskaan and Apne Aap Women Worldwide. It prompts a critical reevaluation of our relationship with mediaeval issues like slavery and prostitution within the modern cityscape. Kejriwal’s work delves into the complex layers of urban existence, where modernity clashes with tradition, religions intermingle, and colonial legacies persist.
